Well, we are back from market and did we ever get some neat stuff!  We have ordered Lucky jeans; ones that are a missy fit as opposed to a junior fit.  I tried them on at market, they are wonderful.  Old brands that we will be bringing back in are Tianello and Three Dots.  Tianello has designed the most precious tops you’ve ever seen before.  You will recall that Three Dots is a tee shirt line like no other.  And just in time for Christmas, we are bringing in readers with lots of bling, oh are they darling.   Plus, we are introducing the PurseN collection.  PurseN insert accessories take organization to a whole new level.  Designed to keep a woman’s purse beautiful on the inside, this collection includes a fashionable organizer insert, a unique set of make-up bags, a shoe bag and a sleek sunglass case.

All of this is coming to a store near you very soon!

Love,

I have to admit I am a make-up junkie. When I get near a cosmetic counter, all the sales reps start singing the hallelujah chorus. My daughter recently introduced me to ELF cosmetics on line, she shares my junkie passion. Everything is just $1. This place is about as good as it gets for us addicts.

ALL e.l.f. COSMETICS ONLY $1

On my first adventure, I just ordered 5 products. I had a coupon so ended up paying just a little over $5, total, which included shippping.  I ordered and received a lip liner, an eye liner, 2 eyeshadows, a blush, and a moisturizing tint. I, unfortunately, am no greenhorn when it comes to make-up. Trish McEvoy personally thanked me and Randa once for using her products. Secretly, she wondered how two women could possibly spend like we do and were always invited to her “make-up” parties.

So, we left the Chanel Hall of Fame and hitched our star to Trish. Previously, we had enjoyed this same relationship with Ester Lauder, Lancome, Nars, Clinique, Avon, and Arbonne. So, I feel that qualifies me to sample these products from nearly a professional standpoint. When the products arrived, the first observations was that the products are smaller than I was accustomed to purchasing. But, as opposed to being negative; I found that to be genius. I have to admit that I tire easily of a cosmetics. Thus, I have 92 partially used eye shadows, 47 left over blushes and more lipsticks that I can wear in a lifetime. So, smaller is good. Smaller is great for travel. All the products were great and I’ve tried them all! The lip liner and eye liner both came with their own sharpeners. The colors are true to what is shown on the web site. I love the color stick (blush) and the tint is as good or better than the Trish I was using. The eye shadows are not for me because they are frosted, these eyes are too old for any frosting, but I know Jen will love them. All in all a very pleasant experience, for just a few bucks.

Jen: Ok, I couldn’t decide what to get, so I bought the Sultry look, minus the bronzer. I’m too pale to pull off bronzer–it’s pretty obvious that I didn’t go on a vacation and cover everything but the apples of my cheeks in SPF 85. It came with a mineral foundation, mineral glowy powder, black eyeliner, black mascara, brow gel, lip conditioner, lipgloss, a kabuki brush, and a blush brush, and they also sent me a bonus lipgloss as a gift. I think the total was $26. I made a link (above) so that we can be affiliates for ELF. Oh, it also came with tweezers, but I think I’ll stick with my Anastasia pair.

Fall is officially here!   It’s now time to start wearing your jeans again.   And, have the flood gates opened, we have lots and lots and lots of new jeans.  We have short jeans, tall jeans, skinny jeans and fat jeans….we can fit everybody.  Our brands include French Dressing Jeans and Tribal jeans.  And, what has been a sleeper jean has turned into a winner…Ethyl jeans.  So, when the urge for new jeans hits (and it always does) come let Charlene and Randa fix you up.

New Fall stuff is arriving daily.  So we have now reduced all our summer clothing 50%.   Plus everyone just loves our garage sale.  It has lots of cute stuff for $10 or $20 an item.   Hope all is well with all you guys.   See you soon.

Charlene and Randa

We are doing a Straw Hat first.  We are holding our own garage sale.  Boy is it fun.  We have marked some items $10 (includes some shoes) and other items are $20.   There is some really cute stuff on these racks.

Speaking of garage sales.   Do you remember good old corning ware?  You know, the kind you can cook in, refrigerate, and then reheat.  When I remarried I did a dumb thing….remarrying was not the dumb thing.  But to make room for all his stuff…I gave away my corning ware.  When I realized that was, indeed, a mistake I went to Bed, Bath to get some more.  All they have now is stuff to bake in.   Where did it go?    So, if any of you see any at other garage sales; I will pay you for your efforts to pick it up for me.

Have a great day!

Mary Alberta Ross, better known to us as Berta, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2008.  She is survived by her sons Chuck and Roger and by her daughter, our very own Randa.  She had lots of grandchildren, and even more great grandchildren, all of whom will miss sorely “Mama Ross”.   Many of you will remember meeting Berta.  She always had her nails and toes polished, her jewelry matched, her shoes were always precious and, of  course,  coordinated with whatever darling outfit she had chosen for that day.  Remember, she was present at the last Austin Cunningham concert and was more lively than folks half her age.  On that occasion, she only had her big toenail painted…because that was the only one that showed!   She was a kind and generous lady (lady is the only word that describes Berta) who opened her home to me personally at a time when I was grief stricken and needed some tender loving care.   I salute you, Berta, for the lady you always were and for the wonderful memories you left behind.

Bye Berta.

Please remember Berta’s family in the days ahead.

Love, Charlene

Please don’t come see us on Saturday, August 30th and on Monday,  September 1st, cause we won’t be open then.   We will be eating barbecue and just sitting around.

HAPPY LABOR DAY TO YOU ALL.

Charlene and Randa
